  Ambassador Nancy Goodman Brinker
In 1982, following the death of her sister from breast cancer, Nancy Goodman Brinker dedicated her life to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. She established the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with only a few hundred dollars of her own savings. To date, the Komen Foundation has raised more than $500 million and is recognized as the leading organization in the fight against breast cancer. With more than 75,000 volunteers around the globe, the Foundation is the largest breast cancer organization in the world.

Not content with founding the largest breast cancer organization in the world, Brinker accepted President George W. Bush's nomination of Ambassador to Hungary in 2001, and her achievements there are equally impressive.

Brinker's remarkable life story is a profound testament to the possibility within all of us to effect positive change in the world. At the podium, Brinker shares her extraordinary journey from humble beginnings in Peoria, Illinois, to her philanthropic achievements in the fight against breast cancer, to her accomplished Ambassadorship in Eastern Europe.   Bill Cawley
At 24 years old a life-changing event changed the life of Bill Cawley and his promising career with a Fortune 500 company and an exciting and fulfilling personal life. In an instant, everything changed forever as he dove off a dock, hit his head and became a quadriplegic. The doctors insisted that he would never live an independent life.

Through hard work and determination, he proved that neither the accident nor the doctors would determine his future and one year later, Bill was living independently and had returned to work full time!

He was committed to making sure that his life’s potential was not limited by the use of his legs and since then, he has achieved many of these goals. Bill has had a successful fourteen-year career as a senior manager at two Fortune 500 companies.

Bill founded Family & Friends Curing Paralysis (FFCP), a non-profit organization created to raise money for spinal cord research. FFCP has generated over $700,000 and twice hosted Christopher Reeve as a keynote speaker.

However, his most fulfilling triumph is being a great husband and proud father of three young children. His accomplishments from the boardroom to the dinner table has inspired others to appreciate and enjoy their lives.   Jessica Lynch
During some of America's darkest days, 19-year old Jessica Lynch became a symbol of hope and courage for millions of American citizens. Having lived through the unimaginable, she is a now a living example of how faith and hope gave her the strength and courage to survived her capture as a P.O.W. in the U.S.-led war on Terrorism.

Born and raised in the hills of West Virginia, Jessica joined the U.S. military with dreams of seeing the world, getting an education and becoming a kindergarten teacher. Leaving her loving family and the community she loved, she set out to achieve her goals.

Only life didn't go exactly as planned. Through a series of missteps and navigational errors, Jessica and the soldiers in her unit drove into enemy territory and were the first to come under hostile fire. Taken as a prisoner of war by the Iraqi government, Jessica survived nine days of captivity in an Iraqi hospital despite life-threatening injuries and constant fear.

Today, Jessica is sharing her inspirational story with others and working hard to recover from her injuries and return to her normal activities.

In a compelling question & answer session, audiences will hear:
How a small-town girl from West Virginia ended up becoming a symbol of hope and courage for a nation reeling from September 11 and the War on Terrorism;
The sequence of events that led up to that fateful day in Nasiriyah and the firestorm from which she would barely survive;
About the people who inspired Jessica and gave her the will to survive during her ordeal;
About the unexpected kindness from a few Iraqi's who tried to help Jessica and return her home;
What this experience as taught her about never giving up, the value of life and giving back to others.

Jessica's message is about surviving against all odds. By sharing her story, she inspires others to realize that we too can find the inner strength and courage to face life's challenges, no matter how daunting. Jessica's message reminds us that being a hero sometimes simply means just doing our job. And that we all have a responsibility to give something back as we never know when something we do might make a profound difference in someone's life. And Jessica's story poignantly delivers the message that we must never take our freedom or our loved ones for granted as nobody knows what's ahead and when we may lose the people we love.
